How do you suggest mega dosing D3, how can one safely take 50,000 IU for 10 days and 10K IU per day thereafter? And what method of delivery for such a high dose?Updated 9 months ago
Thank you for your questions. Here's the story about a friend who megadosed vitamin D3 and restored his jaw. If you're reading this, it sounds like you're ready to get high-dose Vitamin D3 into your regimen.
It is possible to take 50,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per day for a brief period of time, then 10,000 IU per day as a maintenance dose.
Here's a recommended approach:
High-Dose Phase (50,000 IU/day for 10 days):
You can achieve this dosage by using high-potency Vitamin D3 capsules or liquid drops. I personally use Sports Research 5000 IU capsules.
Maintenance Dose (10,000 IU/day):
After the initial high-dose phase, switch to a maintenance dose of 10,000 IU per day. This can be accomplished with capsules or liquid drops that offer 5,000 to 10,000 IU per serving. Again, I stick to Sports Research 5000 IU capsules.
For the 300-count bottle of Nature Made Vitamin D3, which typically contains 2,000 IU per capsule, you would need to take multiple capsules to reach the desired dose. Specifically, for the high-dose phase, you would need 25 capsules per day, which might be impractical. Additionally, I don't recommend Nature Made Vitamin D3 as it contains soybean oil, which is terrible for your health. Instead, go for Sports Research Vitamin D3. These are 5,000 IU each and come with 360 capsules. I use these and suggest them to everyone I love and care for. They're in coconut MCT oil, which is far better for your health and teeth. Blood Tests: Regularly check your vitamin D levels through blood tests. Aim for optimal levels, typically between 40 and 60 ng/ml (or higher for short periods up to 100 ng/ml when trying to support jaw or bone loss recovery), but consult with your healthcare provider for personalized targets.
Magnesium and K2: Ensure adequate intake of magnesium and vitamin K2, as they work synergistically with vitamin D3. Magnesium helps with vitamin D metabolism, and K2 (found in butter and the fish eggs in our Tooth Restore) directs calcium to the bones and teeth, preventing it from depositing in the arteries.
Adding these steps to your regimen should support your efforts to restore bone growth and improve your dental health. Remember to listen to your body and adjust as needed, and always consult with a holistic healthcare professional to tailor the approach to your specific needs.
